ACT TOO acting classes for adults will run this summer 2018 in Abu Dhabi at Sorbonne Université Zayed theatre on Reem Island from July 15 to July 19 and in Dubai at The Junction H72 in Al Serkal Avenue from July 22 to August 1.
Designed for both absolute beginners and more experienced performers in search of skills-maintenance, the Acting Foundations course offers a progressive approach to learning the art of acting using a variety of methods by leading practitioners such as Boal, Grotowski and Lecoq. Sessions cover improvisation, voice & movement, character development, scene study, and presentation style, plus Shakespeare for beginners in the Dubai programme. In creative and professional theatre settings, training involves theatre games-playing, informative talks, acting exercises, scene-creations, and performing before peers.
Extra study material, such as play synopses & scene samples, is provided online. Dress code is comfortable clothing allowing free movement for low-impact physical activities.
Respecting individuality while also fostering group-work is a core value of this acting programme, running since 2015. Beyond artistic development students can also benefit from boosting communication and interpersonal skills.
